It’s a known fact that groomsmen are the brotherhood squad who helps the groom during his wedding day, especially during the gate-crashing games in the morning, and helping serve guests during the wedding reception. But what exactly is the responsibility of the best man? Is it just like that of a groomsman? Well in this article, we’ll share with you what exactly a best man and a groomsman is supposed to do during a wedding.
So what’s the difference between the best man and groomsmen?
Though the best man is considered to be a part of the groomsmen, there are still some distinct differences in roles. The best man is usually someone who is closely related to the groom, like a brother or a best friend. He also has the highest honour in the grooms party, and thus has greater responsibilities too, compared to the groomsmen.
The best man is usually the leader of the pack, in charge of organizing and ensuring that all the pre-wedding planning and details are on track. The groomsmen, on the other hand has the job of being on standby, should the best man or groom require their help.
