Almost every girl I know has an idea of their fantasy wedding. The gown, the lights, the decorations – they’re all mapped out in our imagination. It could be all the Disney and Korean dramas we have been watching but regardless, all we want is a beautiful memory to look back on.
But if you haven’t got it all figured out, don’t worry. Let us inspire you with this list:
1. Forest Theme
Nature’s beauty knows no match. Its natural spectrum of soft pastels and bold tones harmonizes together so well that it does the entire job for you. Pick a location that suits you best – preferably one with wispy leaves and tall trees to recreate an enchanting forest escape. This almost Elvish look is great for the tree-huggers and anybody looking to transport their guests into a fantastical world of Lord of the Rings.
2. Glitter Theme
You can never go wrong with glitter or anything shiny for that matter. Glamorous and classy, glitter always adds a wow factor to any wedding and better yet, you can easily DIY some of these things, too. For an added touch of luxury, you can double it up as a 1920’s themed wedding for a night at Jay Gatsby’s because everything is better at the Gatsby’s eh, old sport?
3. Mystical Theme
Take your mind (and your guests’) down the rabbit-hole into a land of mystical wonders where everything is made possible. From unicorns to faeries, you can get your guests to dress up a little and be any character they want. A wedding and a costume party in one? I want to be invited too! However, a little disclaimer, this isn’t for the faint of imagination. So, let your mind run free and wild!
4. Literary Theme
There is nothing more romantic than a crafted poem or a well-written book. This theme is incredibly meaningful if the two of you have a special author you both adore or have bonded over books. Intricate and thoughtful, weddings don’t have to always be a girly feat but instead try to bring your own story forward through every aspect of your wedding. From book arches to book bouquets and little paraphernalia, your guests will be more than happy to be a part of a page in your story.
5. Camp Theme
A unique idea for an outdoor wedding, a camping themed wedding is both fun and intimate – like a large bonfire gathering. You can keep things really simple and small with this theme and throw in some fun ideas like picnic decorations and camping snacks. Everyone will appreciate the laid back atmosphere; after all, everything is better with smores!
6. Carnival Theme
From acrobats to carousels, the possibilities are endless when it comes to carnival themed weddings. If you have a hefty budget, don’t hesitate to go the distance and splurge a little for the acrobatic spectacle. It will be a wedding to remember and nobody will be able to stop raving about it. Fun, exciting and exhilarating, you can pair your decorations with entertainment – a guaranteed fun-filled night for all.
7. Disney Theme
Of course, no fantasy themed weddings go without a Disney Princess one. Every girl at some point wanted to be one of them and the greatest part of it all is how diversified the princesses are. There’s a personality, colour palette and concept for every girl out there. If Disney Princess speaks to you, find one that you relate to best and prepare to gallop away on your pumpkin carriage with your Prince Charming!
Themed weddings are always a little more special – it says a little something about the bride and groom without giving everything away. It is almost like an unfolding story of how you two met or what you two like – a mystery for all to unveil. Find something that speaks about your journey and have fun sharing your magical night with everyone!
