We love a bride and groom who aren’t afraid to step outside the boundaries of tradition for the sake of creating a wedding that is truly their own. Anita and Paul are one such couple who threw (some) tradition out the window, and the results were equal parts quirky and adorable. The bride wanted to incorporate something into her wedding beyond flowers, which she felt were too temporary an embodiment of the promise they were making. As an unabashed lover of cats (you go, girl), and since her own feline friends couldn’t be at the ceremony, she decided to nix the floral arrangements for something a bit more lasting and a lot more entertaining. Instead of adorning her bridesmaids with the expected bouquet, Anita had her ladies walk down the aisle with stuffed cats in hand. That’s right — plush little kitties.
In addition to their affection for kittens, the lovely duo are also avid music-lovers and decided to go with a theme that showcased their passion, complete with record and cassette centerpieces for each table and dancing all night. To top it off, the wedding party was dressed to the nines in too-cool retro apparel — the women in ’50s-era polka-dot dresses, the men in classic suits with record cuff links, tie clips, and pins.
All around, the wedding not only boasted a fun and lighthearted feel but was also a decoratively pleasing sight to behold. See for yourself, and try not to squeal at the sight of the fuzzy felines galore.
