Last year, Huang Xiaoming and Angelababy decided to spend $34 million on their lavish royal-themed wedding which was double of Kanye West and Kim Kardashian’s wedding in Florence, Italy. Held at the Shanghai Exhibition Center, the wedding took over the title of ‘Wedding of The Century’ after Jay Chou and Hannah Quinlivan’s wedding at Yorkshire.
Aside from fulfilling his bride’s dream of having a wedding in a castle with her as the princess, Huang Xiaoming also set up a charity fund in Angelababy’s name knowing that she loves doing charity. He also provided 527 financial aid to children under each of the guests’ name. Not only that, the beautiful O’Hara roses as well as the other flowers and trees that decorate the wedding venue were to be donated to social welfare organizations.
Aside from the holographic castle at the wedding, a 10-foot-tall carousel theme wedding cake which took one month to assemble was displayed at the wedding. Her Dior Haute Couture wedding gown was also the talk of town where it took five months to finish. 115 feet of ivory satin organza was used to lighten the weight of the dress and 165 feet of tulle were used to make the seven layers of petticoat. There was also a 10-foot-long train aside from the nearly 100 hand-cut rose bouquets made of Chantilly lace that were hand-sewn into the organza sleeves.
The Chaumet tiara was also another key piece of Angelababy’s wedding look. Not only that, her 6-carat tear-drop shaped Chaumet Josephine collection engagement ring which cost $1.5 million was another feature that stole the limelight.

Some said the wedding was a ‘wedding for the media’ due to its extravagance and over-the-top exposure while Chou and Quinlivan’s wedding at England was a ‘wedding to celebrate love’ as there were no media present at the wedding. We believe that everyone has their right to choose what kind of wedding they want. What do you think?
