After the wedding, most couples are super excited for their honeymoon. If you are planning to fly off to an island right after your big day, make sure you plan for your honeymoon before the wedding. Booking air tickets, hotels and passes to museums are supposed to be settle at the beginning so that you do not have to worry about it when its time for you to enjoy with your partner. Here are five steps to ensure you have a stress-free and enjoyable honeymoon!
1. Choose A Destination That You Both Want To Go
The last thing you want on your Paris honeymoon is realizing that your partner isn’t such a big fan of Mona Lisa. Discuss beforehand and pick a place that both of you can agree on. This might be hard since everyone has different interests but with some compromising here and there, it is possible.
2. Prepare and Plan Everything Earlier
In Malaysia, we know that sometimes it takes a whole day just to get our passport ready which is why we have to renew or apply it earlier. This will save the fuss and time of doing it at the very last minute. Not only that, if you are planning to travel around with the public transportation and visit museums or art galleries, book the transport and entrance passes earlier.
3. Keep The Itinerary Simple
Honeymoons are supposed to be relaxing and not hectic, unless hiking up Mount Everest together is your kind of honeymoon. List down the places you want to go and activities you want to do, and plan it with in-between time for tea, dessert and a little bit of strolling in the park. Some places might not make it into the itinerary but it’s okay, because it gives you a reason to come back again for an anniversary honeymoon maybe?
4. Have a Travel Budget
After splurging so much on your wedding, you might want to be mindful on spending for your honeymoon. Yes, you can and should allocate a certain budget for your trip and put it aside at the very beginning. Its bad when you both start arguing in the hotel on who is paying what and what not. So, do plan early so that you can arrange the money matters in the best way possible.
5. Zero Working Hours When On Honeymoon
Don’t spoil the mood with work during your honeymoon. You will receive emails, you will receive calls, but you can choose to not entertain them simply because you are spending a wonderful time with your partner. Try not to bring your laptop or tablet for it unconsciously lures you to check your emails and start doing work. You have your smartphone which does the same function but at least you minimize the chances of working.
