5 Ways To Include Your Kids in Your Wedding

kids

It is becoming a more and more common scene where couples have kids before getting married. Be it from conceiving out of wedlock or from a previous relationship, the fact of the matter is that many couples are now having to consider how they can have their special day, whilst still including their little ones.

Tell the kids before you pop the question

So before you pop up the question, try to involve your kids in the proposal. It will make them feel included from the very beginning. At the same time, it gives them an opportunity to ask important questions and address their concerns.

Make a playlist with your kids

During the wedding planning process, you can brainstorm a list of favourite songs where you can dance with your kids. They won’t all make the cut, but it will make their day when they hear the song they’ve picked being played on your wedding day.

Collaborate on the Guest List

The problem with getting married when you have kids is that if you invite every relative and friend with kids, you could end up with more kids than adults at the wedding. So an alternative would be to consider a kid-free wedding. Try to include your kids in planning the list of who should be there on the big day.

Spend the night with your kids on the eve before the wedding

Take some time to spend some quality time with your kids the night before the wedding. You can go for a short staycation where you and your little ones can spend some time together before you officially add on another family member.

Give kids a role in the ceremony

There are all sorts of ways to include your kids in your wedding. For example, you can ask them to be in the wedding party as a flower girl or ring bearer. If you have a kid who is comfortable in front of crowds, he or she can read a poem, play an instrument, or sing a song.

So when you are planning your wedding, don’t forget to include your kids. It makes them feel important and not left out during the planning. After all, your kids are some of the most important people in your lives and thus, they should be able to celebrate your big day with you too.
