Tired of Your Wedding Preparations? 5 Tips On How To Look After Your Precious Feet

By Melissa Chan

Having your make-up and hair done, putting on your gorgeous gown and finally, slipping onto that perfect pair of shoes. After couple of hours walking and standing for your pre-wedding shoot, you started to feel your feet are burning. At the end of the day, as you remove your shoes, only to discovered blisters (and few of them!) on your feet, and they’re red!

Should that happen, do soak your feet in foot soak with warm water for 10 – 15 minutes to ease the pain. After you’ve dry them, apply some ointment and keep them as dry as possible. Do try to avoid covered-up shoes for the next few days so they may heal properly.

However, here are few ways that you may want to consider as to avoid that nasty situation from ever happening, especially on your way to say ‘I Do’.

1. Extra Shoes

While you are walking and standing most of the time during your pre-wedding shoots, do change into another comfy pair every 3 hours or should your killer stilettos heels are killing your feet softly.

2. Larger Size

Purchase shoes that are one size larger and include cushioning to avoid blisters and soreness. Best to buy your shoes in the late afternoons to evenings as your feet will expand during these times.

3. Get Extra Support

It’s best to choose a pair or two of your wedding shoes that comes with extra support like arch support, thick and / or lower heels. Not only your feet will thank you, so is your back!

4. Keep Them Dry

Keep your feet as dry as possible during the entire photo session and on your wedding day. Take a rest and remove your shoes once in a while to let the blood circulation move, and you don’t want to have smelly feet at the end of the day, do you?

5. Get A Pedicure

Pamper your feet with a pedicure or spa session one week before your pre-wedding shoots or your actual wedding day. Getting your toe nails trim as this will avoid in-grown nails, fungus, infections, and long nails which will caused your feet to scream!

When you are trying on your shoes, make sure you walk, jump, skip or even run around in it. This way, you will know if your shoes are tight, too loose, is the arch support sufficient, and more. Look for a pair that you are most comfortable with.

In the end, it’s your wedding day, and kicked off those shoes after the ceremony and stretch out those legs – calves and tendons to release the pressure.
