Wedding Wonderland and Mass Romantic Dinner 2015
February 14th, 2015 – Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – Wedding.com.my and global shark conservation NGO WildAid Shark Savers have come together for a worthy cause and fun, one-of-a-kind Valentine’s Day events to encourage fellow Malaysians to spread and increase awareness to urgently fight off the need in the usage of shark fins in soups, especially in wedding dinners and ceremonies.
Wedding.com.my has over 200,000 members consisting of couples and brides-to-be. Through this dinner and event exhibition (Wedding Wonderland), the objective is to raise awareness and unite all participating wedding vendors and bridal community under the Wedding.com.my platform, in an aim to promote the idea to couples who are planning their weddings in 2015; that it is socially acceptable and environmentally astute to not serve shark fin soups at wedding banquets. Shark Savers Malaysia will be using their iconic “I’m FINished with FINs” campaign to lend viral social media influence and bring immense celebrity ambassadorial power to bear on the activities planned for 14th to 15th February 2015.
There will be two events on the 14th of February itself; Wedding Wonderland and V-Day Mass Romantic Dinner. Wedding Wonderland will feature over 20 vendors from wedding and event planning, wedding photography, wedding apparel, entertainment, beauty, floral boutiques and many more. Guests will be able to consult wedding vendors and get inspirations for the planning of their dream wedding. The event starts at 12PM and ends at 6PM. Admission is free for the public.
Guests who have purchased the dinner with a two day, one night stay (Package A) at E-City Hotel at One City can start to check-in at 3PM-4PM. From 4PM to 6PM, guests are free to explore and visit Wedding Wonderland and check out movie times with their complimentary movie tickets. The mocktail, photo session and close-up magician show will be held at the Ballroom Foyer before the Mass Romantic Dinner starts.
Guests and VIPs will start arriving at 6PM for the Mass Romantic Dinner and it will officially start at 7PM. Malaysia’s largest jewelry retail chain, Poh Kong, is one of Wedding.com.my’s biggest sponsors for these events. Video presentations on the V-Day Challenge, Wedding.com.my, Shark Savers, and sponsors, One City, Poh Kong and Between, will start as an introduction to the dinner event. There will also be magic shows by Peony Romance, live band performances by MYLIVE Entertainment and Bling Voice flower distributions by Evvainzzel while the appetizers and soups are being served.
While the main course starts serving at 8PM, award winning singer and champion of Astro Talent Quest 2004, Fayse, will be performing his hit songs. The highlights of the night will start at 8.35PM. There will be a ‘selfie/wefie’ contest run by WeChat, lucky draws with attractive prizes such as buffet lunch vouchers worth RM2400 by Sky 360, cash vouchers worth RM150 from St3p Shoes, Farm In The City tickets, 3 bottles of wine that will be presented by Dr. Victor Chen and photo booth vouchers each worth RM2800 by Peony Romance. Ms. Stacey Lee, Sales & Marketing Director of Wedding.com.my, will be the host for the best dressed couples in the ‘Most Dazzle Couple’ contest sponsored by Poh Kong.
From 9.15PM onwards, there will be closing performances such as magic shows, live band and the start of the ‘Most Matching Couple’ contest by Photobook Malaysia with attractive prizes worth RM199. The whole event will wrap up at 11PM.
