Your career might be significant to you but so is your partner, ladies and gentleman. It is understandable that before marriage, there won’t be any issues about work and what not. But once you and your partner tie the knot as a marriage partner, there’s a lot to talk about with your spouse.

Now might be the time to strongly consider how you will be balancing your career life and your family. Well, of course, the most prevailing opinion that we usually hear is that you can’t satisfy both sides and even worse, you can’t have both. It is hard for us to juggle between two important things unless you know the trick and tips to make it work!

Rest assured as I can help you to sort it through.

You can try to follow these three rules for balancing your work and of course your personal life:

1) Priorities

Discuss your preferences with your spouse. Tell each other what your priorities are. If you feel like you have not set up any priorities, then it is time for you to set up one. Setting your priorities help you to stay focus. There might be fundamental differences in priorities.

The only way to know each other’s preferences is to talk about it. Have a thorough discussion and say what your preferences are. This way, the journey forward will be a lot more manageable and enjoyable since both partners will have the same mindset.

2) Timing

Make a schedule for your working hours and your family time. Make sure you know the day and time which you need to focus on work, and also when you need to focus on your family. When you have done your scheduling, follow it.

Timing is crucial for you. Timing is the golden key! It is everything that can help you to balance between your work and family. Be dependent on the schedule that you have set yourself up. You will be surprised on how it will benefit you!

3) Leave your work at the office.

That is how it should be, You will have your working time at your office and once you are done with your work, leave it there. What I mean with this is, after one tiring day at the office, once you have stepped out from the office, please leave whatever that is related to work there. Don’t bring it home. To talk about it with your spouse is different.

You have to set your mind up like this, work is work, and family is family. Only then you’ll have a balanced work and personal life. Your spouse will be happy, your family will be happy AND you’ll be happier! 😉
