5 Ideas for Marriage Proposal: Yes! She said “Yes”!

By Yong Sin Yee

After years, you eventually found the perfect one. So, you have decided to get your one and only to the next stage of life. And now, what you need to do is to get her said “Yes, I do”! Here are some marriage proposal ideas for you.

#1: A Candlelight Dinner

The most traditional way is take your sweetheart for a candlelight dinner. A dinner for two during the anniversary, and be ready to drop one knee afterwards. Tell her you want to bring her to the next stage of life. Well, you are recommended to have a talk with the restaurant so that they can lend you a hand or help you to run your proposal smoothly; music, lighting etc.

#2: Photo Memory Lane

Print all the photos you have taken with your sweetheart when you both are in the relationship. Use the photos to create a “memory lane” at home. Remember from the earliest to the latest so that the photos can remind her every single moment of you and her. She will be surprise to see you waiting her at the end of the lane. And that’s the time you are going to ask her, “Will you marry me?

#3: A Video Proposal

If you think you will be panicking asking your sweetheart’s hand in marriage face to face, maybe you can try to propose – via a video! You can tell her your feelings, your plans with her in the future, anything you want to tell her. Of course, you should still ask her whether she is willing to spend the rest of her life with you face to face. However, try learning some basic video editing techniques to make the video more interesting. Romantic background music, perhaps?

Dean Smith took a video and edited himself asking for his fiancée’s hand in marriage for 365 days before proposing to her in real life!

#4: Play A Game

Play a game with your sweetheart; a trivia game or truth or dare? It’s totally up to you as long as you have the chance to ask her question during the game. You can choose to play between both of you or with a group of friends. When it is your turn, just ask the question like usual, “Will you marry me?” Allow her to look at you with a stunned face. Try to ask her again in a serious way, and tell her you mean what you are talking about.

#5: Ask for Her Help

Pretend that you are seeking help for something and ask her to do you a favour. Lead her to search the place where the ring is at with a note asking her to marry you. Or you can also be creative; snap a photo of you holding the ring. Set as a wallpaper on your mobile phone. Take another phone to call your own mobile. Remember to save the phone number you are going to use to call your own phone with the name “Will you marry me?” Ask her to pick up the call for you. By then, she will see your proposal.
