Wedding photography captures glimpse of moments; that once-in-a-lifetime moment that is the most memorable and nostalgic when you look back at the photo. However, it’s not easy sometimes to strike for a wedding pose in the nick of time during photography session. Here are some basic yet romantic wedding posing techniques you can learn and work perfectly for any couples.
1. Hand in Hand
There is no way you can mess this up. Holding hands is the simplest and natural pose with an impactful effect in a photograph. This works well because the guy’s arm is usually longer, but holding hands keeps the distance between couple a little tighter, no matter the length of each arm. Adding movements to the shot creates a leisure and natural effect and helps to relax couples who are nervous and stiff.
2. Head on his Shoulder
Another good wedding posing technique would be: when a bride comes up to the groom and wraps herself around him. It is flexible whether she could lean on the groom’s shoulder, neck or the back, depending on her height.
3. A Kiss on the Temple
Kissing shots can be hard sometimes as some couples might look awkward in photos, not because they are bad kissers. Shooting a kissing shot requires precision and perfect angle. Therefore, kissing on the temple (forehead) is so much easier and romantic as well regardless who is doing the kiss. It simply works by giving a sweet little peck on the other’s temple.
4. Foreground & Background
If you are running out of poses or just having too many close-up shots of the both of you, try playing roles in the foreground (in focus) and at the background (out of focus). Say, a groom can play a role at the background by posing with his hands in the pocket or leaning on something. For a bride in the foreground, you could put your hand at the hips or even hold a bouquet as shown in the picture above.
5. Forehead against Forehead
Brides and Grooms putting foreheads together have been done countless times in a photography shoot but sometimes they do turn out… weird (coughs). There is a certain wedding posing technique you have to learn to make it right and work real well. Firstly, make sure the couple is close. Second, close your eyes. Third, place your hands and cheeks naturally. And finally, select the best shots out of these headbutts, of love.
